Building Writing Rituals

Writing has always been a place of calm for me. It’s so soothing to feel my pen glide across the paper and let my thoughts, worries and concerns melt from my mind. I find clarity on the paper and it helps me see through something that I may have needed a new perspective on.

But I know that’s not the case for everyone. I started to witness this as a teacher with students who struggled to write and I became very passionate about helping students break down their “writing stories” to see themselves as an author. I’ve continued this same passion for helping adults dive into their journaling practice to gain inner clarity and build a deeper relationship with themselves.

We all have a voice. We all have a unique message that can touch the heart of someone else to let them know they aren’t alone. And when we are familiar with the quiet whispers of our heart and soul callings, we will light up the world through connection and healing.

My writing ritual has looked differently during various stages of my life and still shifts based on the day. Here are the basics that have helped me to gain confidence and security in my journal practice. I hope that it helps!
